About the role: 

This is a part time (0.6 FTE) position with flexibility on working days and hours, whereby you will be responsible for supporting the ‘Manager – Credit Control’ with the Firm’s Cash Collections. This role involves assisting with the assessment of client creditworthiness, maintaining billing accuracy, and contributing to effective accounts receivable management. The Credit Officer will collaborate closely with the ‘Manager – Credit Control’ to handle routine credit matters and provide necessary support, ensuring seamless credit and billing operations. 

Although you will be based out of the Geelong Office for the majority of your in-office days, the ideal candidate will be willing to travel to our Melbourne CBD office once a fortnight.   

Key Tasks: 

  • Assist in evaluating and managing client creditworthiness, contributing to the establishment of credit terms and payment agreements. 

  • Support the Credit Manager in collaborating with legal teams to generate accurate and timely invoices, ensuring adherence to billing policies. 

  • Contribute to the proactive management of accounts receivable, supporting strategies for effective collection of payments. 

  • Assist in maintaining regular communication with clients to address billing inquiries and build positive relationships. 

  • Handle routine credit-related processes under the guidance of the Credit Manager. 

  • Daily Receipting  

  • Ad Hoc Reporting on request 

  • Other tasks as requested by ‘Manager – Credit Control’ 

Ideal technical skills: 

  • Basic understanding of credit management principles. 

  • Familiarity with financial systems and billing software. 

  • Effective communication skills. 

  • Attention to detail and organisational abilities. 

  • Knowledge of Elite 3e and Imanage would be an advantage.
