Harwood Andrews Principal Appointments

Harwood Andrews has started the 2021/22 financial year by announcing the appointment of Ali Erskine and Ben Broadhead as Principal.  Both Ali and Ben are part of the firm’s dispute resolution practice.

Ali joined the firm in 2015 with significant experience, particularly relating to insolvency, securities and priorities of security review and enforcement. Ali provides technical and strategic advice to clients including insolvency practitioners, company officers, publicly listed and private companies, banks, creditors, and government organisations. Ali has specific experience in relation to corporate and personal insolvency and corporate strategy including restructuring, refinance and debt consolidation. Ali’s commercial disputes knowledge guides her clients through just and equitable winding ups and disputes relating to trustees, including insolvency trustees and rights of indemnity, securities enforcement and priorities, contract disputes. Ali is speaking at Harwood Andrews’ seminar, The Big Issues for Tax Advisors 2021/22 on Tuesday, 13 July 2021 specifically on advisor liability for phoenixing activity.

 

Ben joined the firm in 2013 and acts for both corporations and individuals, bringing a “no nonsense”, common sense approach to resolving matters, primarily in the area of building and construction.

Ben’s key areas of expertise include negotiating and resolving all aspects of domestic and commercial building disputes, contract advice and negotiation, domestic and commercial contract drafting, contractor disputes relating to security of payment legislation claims, builder’s disciplinary matters.  Beyond building and construction Ben has broad commercial litigation and debt recovery experience.
