Hugo is a commercial contract expert experienced in advising on all types of commercial transactions, including local and state government procurement matters.
Hugo advises public and private clients on many aspects of commercial transactions, with particular industry experience in local government tendering strategies, negotiations, contract management, technology and asset maintenance. Hugo has performed secondments within public bodies in support of their commercial and procurement activities and therefore has a keen understanding of the internal drivers of an organisation and their needs from a legal advisor.
Hugo also has experience in private sector corporate advice, including in private capital markets, asset and business transactions and shareholder agreements. Hugo also has a keen interest in charity and not-for Profit law, and regularly deals with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC) in relation to charity applications.
Prior to working in private practice, Hugo spent a year studying mandarin in China, helping to develop his intercultural and interpersonal skillset.
