It’s official – Harwood Andrews is the best regional law firm in Australia!

The winners of the 2016 Australian Law Awards have been announced with regional law firm Harwood Andrews taking out the award for the best Regional/Suburban Law Firm of the Year for 2016.

The regional/suburban category was extremely broad, open to any law firm with a head office 5 kilometres or more from a capital city CBD. Harwood Andrews were narrowed down to one of 10 finalists before being awarded the number one position.

Lawyers Weekly publisher William Magee said the finalists represented the best talent within the legal sector. “Our finalists were representatives from a range of experience and backgrounds, but share a commitment to excellence in the law,” he said.

The process looked at the firm’s commitment to the regional communities in which they operate, their business strategy and key milestone achievements over the past 12 months, as well as ways in which they demonstrate professional excellence to provide positive client outcomes.

The opening of a new office in Albury, the development of new practice areas, their innovative pricing alternatives, the firm’s highly valued B Corp Certification and the outstanding commitment to pro bono services (providing over 3000 hours to the communities in which they operate in the past 12 months) were among the many achievements which led to Harwood Andrews receiving the highly coveted award.

Managing Principal Dan Simmonds is proud of the firm’s achievement and believes businesses in regional communities are fast becoming leaders in providing outstanding products and services. “Regional cities are constantly evolving and becoming more innovative and exciting in the way they do business,” he said

“On top of this, regional cities are also attracting the best quality people; they offer a sea change or a tree change which is very appealing. At Harwood Andrews we have some amazing talent. Many of our lawyers hold specialisations in their field and have a wealth of experience. We strongly believe that you shouldn’t need to leave regional cities to have access to the best quality legal services,” said Mr Simmonds.

Harwood Andrews received recognition in front of almost 800 of the legal industry's most talented professionals at the 16th annual Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards, held at Sydney’s Four Points by Sheraton on Friday September 2nd.
