Harwood Andrews celebrates back to back wins at the 2017 Lawyers Weekly Australia Law Awards

The 2017 The Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards were held on Friday, September 1st at the Star in Sydney. Harwood Andrews was again announced as the winner of the best Regional/Suburban Law firm of the Year for 2017.

Following on from their win in the same category in 2016 and their win at the Australasian Law Awards earlier this year, it is safe to say that Harwood Andrews is a proven leader amongst regional law firms.

Lawyers Weekly features editor, Emma Ryan, said that the calibre of this year’s submissions reflects the high-level of expertise within the legal profession.

“The competition throughout the legal profession is at an all-time high,” Ms Ryan said.

“The finalists for the 2017 Australian Law Awards highlight those who are going above and beyond for their firm and their clients, from the profession’s most senior ranks to its rising stars, she said.

CEO Andrew Barnes credits the firm’s commitment to continuous innovation as a reason for the win. “In 2016, we were recognised for our expansion into new areas or law, and new regional cities. This year our win is largely due to the implementation of digital products that give our clients a new way to connect with us.’ He said

In the past year, Harwood Andrews have developed a range of online services including online Wills and Powers of Attorney, instant Conveyancing and Planning Agreement quotes, and an interactive client portal.

Also contributing to the firm's win was their commitment to the communities in which they operate as well as their focus on providing specialist legal services to their clients. With both, the firm and individuals received a wide range of industry recognition in the past 12 months.

Harwood Andrews was recognised in front of almost 800 of the legal profession’s most talented people at The Star in Sydney on Friday 1 September 2017.
