The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and the Australian Business Register (ABR) have signed an agreement to transfer information between the ABR and the Charities Register. This means there will now be continuous data sharing between the registers and inconsistencies between them will be reduced.
Registered charities will be able to update their details once and have it reflected on both registers.
The ABR will be able to access and download all information that is publicly available on the ACNC register.
The ABR will then report to the ACNC any inconsistencies between the ABR data and the ACNC data for example, an invalid incorrect or duplicate ABN.
Charities can update their contact information on the ACNC Register by logging into the charity portal which can be accessed at www.acnc.gov.au, emailing email@example.com or calling 13 ACNC (13 2262).
