Laura van Dyk is a Senior Associate working in the areas of Planning, Environment and Local Government.
Laura joined Harwood Andrews from a national law firm where she practiced in a specialist planning and environment law team, with a particular focus on statutory and strategic planning advice. Since being admitted to practice in 2009, Laura has gained a broad experience in advising the public sector, in particular local government clients in diverse aspects of planning and environmental law.
Laura's planning law experience includes advising clients in relation to planning approvals and appeals and local planning scheme amendments. She has appeared on behalf of clients and instructed counsel in both small and large scale planning appeals heard in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Supreme Court of Victoria and Planning Panels Victoria.
Other relevant experience includes preparing, negotiating and registering section 173 agreements including agreements covering complex matters such as developer contributions and compliance with management plans.
